Our story

WE ARE HARLOT is a new lingerie brand with a desire to evoke your promiscuity in the hope that you’ll reap both power and pleasure in return. We have been inspired by a long line of formidable women who taught us how to feel more empowered in ourselves, our bodies and our sexuality.

We are promiscuous

Our brand is inspired by the infamous Middle English word HARLOT. Once meaning prostitute or a woman who has many casual sexual encounters, the word was loaded and often used as an insult. We became fascinated by the word and it's meaty history, and we’re not the only ones. Since the dawn of time, society has been obsessed with harlots.

We are provocative

Ancient records, novels, tv series & films have all been commissioned to explore (and often exploit) the lives of harlots but who could blame them? These women were temptresses, mysterious and frankly, forces to be reckoned with.

The more we read and delved deeper into the history of harlots, we felt a deep connection, all we could do was relate.

We might be centuries on but aren’t we all harlots in some small way?
